DUBAI: Final match of Cricket T20 Asia Cup 2022 played between two cricket's world top teams Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 11 September 2022.
Pakistan won the toss chose to field first. Match started initially Pakistani bowlers bowled very well and in the start of the match in first 6 overs Sri Lanka only made 42 runs and they lost their 3 important wickets. At one stage Sri Lank lost their 5 wickets in just 65 runs at that stage it was looking that they will made hardly 100 runs or 125 if will put their total efforts. But Sri Lankan 2 batsman Dhananjaya de Silva and Bhanuka Rajapaksay came on wicket and started to play with concentration when they became well set they started to play aggressively.
Dhananjaya de Silva made 28 runs in only 21 balls and went back to pavilion, after him Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva came on wicket and then he and Rajapaksay played very important innings for Sri Lanka both started to beat Pakistani bowlers very well all over the wicket. In the end Rajapaksay made 71 runs in only 45 balls and Hasaranga de Silva made 36 runs in just 21 balls and Sri Lanka made 170 runs and they lost 6 wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lanka given 171 runs target to Pakistan in 20 overs.
Pakistani bowler did bowl very well and took 3 wickets in 4 overs and given only 29 runs. While Pakistani other bowlers Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan & Iftikhar Ahmed took 1 wicket by each.
Pakistan started bating Muhammad Rizwan and Babar Azam did opening. But very soon Pakistan lost their 2 top batsman in two balls first Babar Azam catch out and then on very next bowl Fakhar Zaman clean bowled by Liyanagamage after lost of two upper wickets Pakistani batting line became under pressure. Sri Lankan Spinners also started bowling very well. Muhammad Rizwan was also facing difficulties during batting against Lankan best bowling. Iftikhar Ahmed came at number 4 and started his inning under pressure. Muhammad Rizwan & Iftikhar Ahmed played very well and did a long partnership. Muhammad Rizwan completed his half century, he made 55 runs in 49 balls and Iftkhar Ahmed 32 runs in 31 balls. When Iftikhar out then no Pakistani batsman stayed on wicket and loosing their wickets one by one and Pakistani batsman all out on 147 runs in 20 overs.
Sri Lanka's bowlers also did very brilliant bowling and bowled all out Pakistan on 147 runs. Sri Lanka most successful bowler was Pramod Madushan Liyanagamage he took 4 wickets in 4 overs and given only 34 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva took 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave only 27 runs. Chamika Karunaratne took 2 wickets and given only 33 runs in 4 overs. Maheesh Theekshana took 1 wicket in 4 overs and given only 25 runs.
After interesting one sided match Sri Lanka easily beat Pakistan and won the Cricket T20 Asia Cup 2022.
